CKC Forgery on the Fourth | DIY Frames

This month’s inspiration kit at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is from Kaisercraft’s new UBUD collection. This collection contains blues and mint green, but also has many touches of natural elements like burlap and woodgrain.

I just love the woodgrain frames that are included in the kit. So I decided to make my own for my kit, Coming Home.

I began by downloading a set of woodgrain printables. (I purchased mine here.)

Then I cut out two rectangles in different sizes. I used my small Cutter Bee scissors to cut out the inside of the frame, but you could also use a craft knife as well. Finally, I inked the edges, including the corners, to give the frames some depth.

I cannot wait to use these frames on a layout!

Now go create!
