Coming Home | Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog Hop

Welcome to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge reveal blog hop–and the first hop of the new year! I hope you are–like me–looking forward to lots of scrappy goodness in 2017.

*You should have arrived here from Jemma’s blog. If you need a full list of blog hoppers, simply click back to the CKC home page.

To kick off our new year, Master Forger Julene has chosen the new UBUD DREAMS collection from Kaisercraft (from Shop ’n Crop) as our inspiration kit. This is a gorgeous collection full of navy blues and mint greens in soft lacy patterns mixed with warm woodgrains.

To create my kit, I began by pulling out two navy blue papers from Basic Grey. I then added a striped paper and two florals in green. Next I added a bicycle print with a woodgrain background. As I was going through my stash, I found a cut-apart sheet from Basic Grey that went well with the papers I had already pulled, although this paper had pink on it as well. So I added just a little pink to my kit, even though it is not a color in the original kit.

I took several cues from the inspiration kit as to what embellishments to include in my collection. First I added doilies, then a small piece of lace, some wood veneer pieces, ribbon that echoes the burlap in the kit, mist, tags, and diecuts.

This inspiration kit reminds me of beautiful vintage wallpaper that you might find in an historic home. My kit reflects this theme, so I have titled my January kit Coming Home. I am excited to work with the soft colors and cozy patterns and textures in this kit!

Now you are on you way to Julene’s blog. Thanks for stopping by and check back during the month as I reveal my projects from this kit.

Now go create!

  1. Fabulous colours with those hints of pink. Your wooden shapes, especially the fox, are too cute!
    Happy new year, have fun!
