About two years ago I went through all the supplies in my stash (which was A LOT–I’ve been scrapbooking for a while now) and got rid of all the papers and embellishments that I knew I would never use. After that I needed a new way to organize my supplies that would (1) allow me to find the things I needed quickly and (2) help me use up my stash.
The answer: kits!
When I first started scrapbooking, I joined several kit clubs because I had little faith in my ability to coordinate products. After a while, I wanted to choose my own supplies and started purchasing paper and embellishments not in kits. Soon I had a growing supply of products.
After my purge, I decided that I still loved kits, but that I wanted to create my own kits now. And that is exactly what I did.
I sorted papers and brads and die-cuts and stickers and alphabets into coordinated stacks. After the whole process I had several kits ready for my photos.
When I am ready to scrap, all I have to do is grab one of these kits and my pictures then I am ready to create!
These two layouts were made with one of those kits.
The first layout is about a trip to a local horse show.
The second layout documents a yearly horse event my children used to attend.
I finished these two layouts in a short amount of time because I already had my supplies in a coordinated kit. Try this process for yourself!
