The last challenge this month at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is to use just one added product on a layout. Challenge #3: One Thing–You may use paper, photos and only ONE other thing on your project (like mist or stamping or one type of embellishment). What? Just one thing? With all of these supplies to choose from, I can only pick one?
I looked through my Autumn Adventure kit to see if I could actually create a layout with such a restriction. Then I spied several cute die cuts that could count as my one thing.
So after choosing my patterned paper and photos, I picked out a few more die cuts that I could use as title, journaling, and embellishments.
First I added the “together” die cut as my title. Then I used a journaling card on which to write my story. Lastly, I added the tab at the top of the page, the “FUN” banner at the bottom, the flowers on the photo, and another cute 3×4 card to finish off the layout.
I have always limited the number of supplies I use at one time so that I am not distracted by looking for that one perfect embellishment. However, I do not think I have ever restricted myself to so few items! It was definitely a challenge, but I learned just how versatile scrapbooking supplies can be.
Try it for yourself! Limit your products to paper, photos and one other thing. And after you have created your page, add it to the monthly link-up page at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog!
