Summer Scrapping Fun with Citrus Twist Kits

Ahhh, summer, I do love you! Summer is my most-definite-favorite-of-all-time seasons. Since I always have so many photos to scrap from the summer months, I appreciate kit clubs that include summery papers and embellishments during June and July.

The June main kit from Citrus Twist Kits has just what I am looking for during this season—bright, fun papers and embellishments in blues and oranges and yellows. I used this kit to scrap some recent photos of summer happenings in our family.

We recently went for a hike in Hanging Rock, a beautiful local park. Our outing included a trip to a waterfall, so I used the blue patterned paper from Crate Paper that mimics water as the background. I then added several embellishments in orange and yellow to allude to the bright sun and hot weather we experienced that day. The word phrase from Amy Tangerine made a perfect title for this page.

The design of this page came from a Sunday Sketch from the Citrus Twist Kits blog. These weekly sketches are always so inspirational!

The next layout I made came from a “3 to Inspire” post on the Citrus Twist Kits blog. These challenges are some of my favorites because I am encouraged to use supplies in new ways. This week’s challenge is to (1) use different stamps to create a title, (2) use a stamp to create your own die cut, and (3) to add a small paragraph of journaling.

this was the best summer day

I normally do not use stamps a whole lot, especially not to make a title—so this was definitely a challenge for me! I like how the title turned out—the whole page has a whimsical feel which is reflected in the title. I used a cute word balloon stamp from the kit to make my own die cut for the journaling block.

My July kit just arrived in the mail (insert happy face emoji here), so I will be using up the last of this great kit to get ready for the new one. Luckily I still have many more summer photos to scrap!
