Sweet Memories | Final Kit Projects

As I used up the last piece of patterned paper from my Counterfeit Kit Challenge collection, Sweet Memories, I said a silent good-bye to Basic Grey. My kit this month, inspired by this collection from Hip Kit Club, was full of Basic Grey items that I received in the warehouse sale held as the company moved out of the scrapbooking business.

In addition to this layout I made featured on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog, I created two more pages from this kit.

The first page was inspired by the first challenge on the blog this month:
Inspiration Board – This wedding site, Burnett’s Boards, has a vast array of inspiration boards. Choose one that works with the color/mood of your own counterfeit kit.

I chose this lovely board filled with navy and pink.

I was especially inspired by the paper flowers, so I included several flowers on my page.

The final page was inspired by the third challenge this month:
Everything Old Is New Again – Showcase the oldest item in your kit in a new & fresh way!

Since my kit was made up of new items, I decided to showcase the most interesting item in my kit. I used one of the canvas banners from the Urban Luxe collection as my title. This product is something I would not purchase, but it came in the box so I challenged myself to use it in a fun way.

Although using up these products was bittersweet, I really love the pages that I created. I will definitely have sweet memories of these pages!

Now go create!

  1. “I said a silent goodbye to BasicGrey” makes me almost want to cry. A fitting tribute to a well-loved and already much-missed manufacturer.
