Summer in my family means going to horse shows. My daughter and I both compete, so we are attending a show usually once or twice a month during the warm (hot!) weather.
Of course, I have hundreds of horse photos to scrap, especially of my daughter and her horse competing at various events. It would be impossible for me to scrap EVERY picture, but I do try to document at least two or three shows during the year. I enjoy telling the story of the day, what went right (or wrong) during the competition, and most importantly, how my daughter and her horse have improved together over time.
This month’s Story Starters at Simple Scrapper all have to do with teamwork. There is a very special bond that develops between a horse and rider. Each ride is a master class in creating teamwork between a person and this wonderfully unpredictable animal.
My daughter has worked diligently over the past several years to learn to communicate effectively with her horse. I documented this story in my first layout for June.
I am so grateful that I have horses in my life. I love watching my daughter compete, and I also love riding my own horse. My second layout documents my gratitude for horses, along with many other things I am grateful for at this point in my life. I used one of this month’s Sketch/Templates to create this page.
