This week’s challenge at the As You See It Challenge blog is a sketch. I was instantly drawn to the design—I knew it would be easy to adapt to a 12×12 page.
I had the last remnants of the August kit from Citrus Twist Kits on my desk, so I combined these supplies with a photo of my husband and son. This picture was taken at a moving truck rental station as my husband was renting a truck to move into a new office. I love this photo for two reasons—one, it shows my close relationship between my husband and my son, and two, this move was an important event in our lives.
My husband had been in the same office for over 12 years—we have many memories there. This is just one photo of several that I took over the weekend of the move. I know I will have more pages on this topic.
The X’s and arrows that form the horizontal line across the page are actually wood veneer pieces from the Citrus Twist kit. I first adhered them in their natural state, but decided to color them black to better accent the black-and-white photo. I just used a Tim Holtz Distress marker to alter the pieces.
To finish the page, I added a few puffy stickers, some patterned paper accents, washi tape, and my journaling. Done!
