Right now I am thoroughly enjoying my summer! As I write this post, I am sitting on my back porch, listening to the June bugs buzz, the birds chirp, and the swish of horses’ tails as they bat away flies. I so enjoy this time of year!
I also love this month’s Sketch/Templates and Story Starters at Simple Scrapper! My first layout uses one of the new Sketch/Templates for August. Using this sketch, I was easily able to put together this page about my son turning 16.
The constellation paper from Echo Park was the perfect background for the layout. The photo I used is light with a blurred background which pops against the dark paper. The oversized “16” I used as the title was inspired by the sketch.
Next up is a layout about my younger son with a photo taken about 3 years ago. He is carefully comtemplating whether or not he wants to jump into the lake. The journaling was inspired by this month’s Story Starters—all about shared stories. I shared a fact, feeling, and memory about this photo on my page. I enjoyed looking back on this event and recording all the details of the moment.
Most of the embellishments on both pages came from the June kit at Pink Fresh Studio.
