If you read my blog, you will know that I LOVE kits. I have all of my supplies organized into kits. I also love to get kits in the mail. Currently, I am subscribed to the main kit at Citrus Twist Kits. The July kit was full of bright colors that were so fun to use!
A little background the first two layouts. The members of my family all volunteer in some way at our local fire department. We all have jackets and shirts and vests in that neon safety-yellow color. Therefore many of my photos have that neon safety-yellow color in them, which is extremely difficult to scrapbook!
This kit, however, had the perfect bright colors to complement that neon yellow. 🙂
The first layout I made was Happy, using a sketch from the Citrus Twist Kits blog. We were on our way to a fire expo and my husband had on his neon yellow coat. I love this photo, but hesitated to scrap it because I could not find any papers that went well. The striped paper from Dear Lizzy in this month’s kit was perfect!
The second layout I made was In Training, this time using a “3 to Inspire” challenge from the Citrus Twist Kits blog. I had to use stamps, cut up photos or Project Life cards or patterned paper, and labels or stickers. Again, I had these photos from back in February, but because of the colors, I was hesitant to scrap them. I used the lemon paper from Pink Paislee, which worked well with the bright colors.
The last layout used another sketch from the blog. The three square photos arranged towards the bottom of the layout reminded me of blocks, so I used pictures of my son’s LEGO creations on the page.
Now I am going to my desk to use up the last of this kit so I can make room for the August kit–which is on its way right now!
