August was a CRAZY month. I really had to make sure to schedule time to scrapbook or I would have not gotten anything done. And I definitely notice when I do not get my scrappy time—it makes me grumpy!
So the Citrus Twist Kits August kit, Good Habits, was a great reminder for me. Scrapbooking has to be a habit in my life so that I am sure I get my creative time. So even through this busy time, I was able to make five layouts with this kit.
The first layout uses the kit and a sketch from the blog. To make this page, I chose several photos from a spring clean-up day around our farm. The photos have very bright neon colors in them, so the soft colors of the papers in the kit worked very well with my pictures.
The third layout uses a 3 to Inspire challenge from the CTK blog. I had to use at least 5 squares, use a medium (like mist, ink or gesso), and use layered stickers. I had been waiting so long to use this cute paper! It went so well with these misty morning photos I took of my daughter at a recent horse show. They were all photos from my iPhone, so I printed them out in 2×2 squares and cut more squares from patterned paper. I inked the squares and the background page with Tim Holtz Distress ink. Finally I layered puffy stickers over washi tape.
The fourth layout uses another sketch from the blog. I have had this photo on my desk for about a month, waiting for the right paper to scrap it. This woodgrain paper from Pink Fresh Studio included in the kit was perfect!
The final layout I made is for another challenge on the As You See It Challenge blog, which will be featured in a future post–look for it soon!
