I recently took Shimelle’s new class, The 20 Project. She created 20 challenges for herself and picked one each day to tackle. There is a process video and PDF for each challenge.
One challenge had me look for untold stories. I have noticed recently that I take many photos of my family while we are away from home, but not many at everyday things we do at home. I started taking more pictures of the little moments of the day. This page features a photo of my husband coming home from work one day and being greeted by my children.
Another challenge concerned using stamps. I have dozens of cute stamp sets that I have not even opened yet. For this page, I opened up and used a set of stamps that I had never used before. I stamped all of the images on white cardstock then cut out the ones I liked best and used them on my page.
The final challenge I completed using my October kit had me use a new color combination. I picked this color scheme of pastel hues, which is not a necessarily new color scheme for me, but I used it on a page featuring my son. I would not normally use those colors on a layout with my teenager, but he was holding a cute chick, so I thought it to be appropriate.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with this kit–many of the papers were ones I have had for years. I was so glad to get them out of my stash! Check back on November 1 for the reveal of the new inspiration kit for November at Counterfeit Kit Challenge.
