Grey Skies — November at Counterfeit Kit Challenge and Blog Hop

Hello crafty crafters–welcome to November! If you are here from Julene’s blog on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog hop, I am so glad you are here!

I love this time of year, especially on our farm–the trees are spectacular, the weather is so pleasant, and Thanksgiving is on its way. At the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog, we are celebrating November by creating a kit based on the latest Pink Paislee collection, Cedar Lane.

When creating my kit, which I am calling Grey Skies, I started with a floral paper from Pebbles reminiscent of the floral patterns in the Cedar Lane kit. I then added several fairly neutral papers and one pop of color–a bright coral print that coordinates with the floral.

For the embellishments, I added washi tape, Thickers, puffy stickers, a diecut, layered flower stickers, buttons, twine, and a cute fox flair button like the fox in the Cedar Lane collection.

This month at CKC, not only did the Master Forgers pick our new kits, we also created our own add-on kit! We each chose an item to add to our kit, and you can see all of our choices in the blog hop. You can use any of these wonderful add-on ideas to make your own embellishments for your kit in November. (We will share a complete list of our add-ons tomorrow–so be on the lookout!)

For my add-on, I was inspired by all of the cute embellished paper clips (like these and these) that are in stores now. So I created a set of clips to complete my Grey Skies kit. I will have a complete tutorial for you on Wednesday for Forgeries on the Fourth.

I am so excited about heading into November and using my Grey Skies kit this month! Be sure to go on to Leslie’s blog for your next stop on the blog hop. And if you want to see all of the Master Forgers’ kits for November, start the blog hop here.
