January at Simple Scrapper

Welcome to 2016! Many people make resolutions this time of year, including me. I like to think of my resolutions as good intentions that I have for the coming year. I never know what new and exciting events may happen that will change my plans!

One of my good intentions is to use my stash. Over the years I have amassed quite a collection of scrapbooking products. Before I purchase anything new, I want to use what I already have.

So when I created these two layouts for Simple Scrapper, I used several supplies that have been sitting in my scrap room for a while.

The first layout is based on one of January’s sketch/templates. I found two bold vertical photos (as in the sketch) and paired them with a subtle patterned paper background. This page tells the story of my youngest son and I having fun together on an unusually warm winter day.

The second layout is inspired by one of the Story Starters on the theme of Love, Me. I documented the special bond that my daughter and I have around our love of horses. One of my greatest joys is being able to ride with my daughter!

I loved being able to document these stories while using older products!

  1. Two lovely layouts and one would never know that the products weren’t right up to date – they look fabulous in the way you’ve presented them. I have reduced my stash a lot over the last few years but theres still an awful lot of vintage BG that I love that I need to use!
